Rasco Industries, Inc. Environmental Corporate Statement
Rasco Industries Inc.motto is “Doors of Excellence!”. With that always in mind, we are dedicated as an organization to provide quality and service to all our customers, employees, our local communities, and to help protect the environment.
We realize that to be able to show excellence, Rasco Industries, Inc., will strive to responsibly construct our doors and act in ways, as an organization, that will not harm the environment, nor harm our neighbors, employees, or customers. Using recycled materials when available, look for ways to reduce waste, and post production to donate or recycle left over materials whenever possible.
- We are proud to provide natural ventilation with our doors by providing facilities throughout the world with products allowing them to have fresh natural air without having to use costly energy to cool the warehouse area.
- We provide a natural pest control barrier, with our Bug Blocker Door products, that does not use dangerous chemicals that may cause harm to the environment. Our Bug Blocker products gently and naturally keep out nature’s bugs, birds, rodents and other mammals from entering loading dock areas.
We proudly use steel which is the most recycled product in the United States. More steel is recycled annually than paper, plastic, aluminum, and glass combined. This is because steel scrap is an essential raw material in making new steel. Recycling is the connection of steel's sustainability. Steel is continuously recyclable, which means it can be recycled over and over with no loss of performance. Read more at: http:// www.recycle-steel.org
Our suppliers provide us with aluminum components that have been derived in part from recycled aluminum. Recycling of scrap aluminum requires only 5% of the energy used to make new aluminum. For this reason, approximately 31% of all aluminum produced in the United States comes from recycled scrap. Aluminum recycling is the process by which scrap aluminum can be reused in products after its initial production. The process involves simply re-melting the metal.
While individual building components themselves are not certified, they can contribute to the points awarded to a project as a whole.
Our long lasting (we have doors still in use over 22 years old), energy efficient products may be able to help in your projects LEED certification.
