"Let the fresh air in and keep the pests out!"
Thank you for purchasing doors from Rasco Industries, Inc. Each of our custom made doors is manufactured to ventilate your commercial facility, while eliminating the problems that occur when overhead loading dock doors are left open. Our Bug Blocker doors provide ventilation, while eliminating entrance by unauthorized people, unwanted bugs, rodents and birds. The information contained in this notice will allow you to operate and maintain the door in a manner which will insure maximum life and trouble free operation.
The Bug Blocker door comes in many configurations. Our most popular is the Dual or Switch Track. In the switch track configuration your Bug Blocker door was added to your existing overhead doors track system. Using the existing door's lower track, a track switch mechanism was added at the top of the opening, a second set of upper tracks, and a sectional screen door of stainless steel wire mesh. This unique track switch design allows for the independent use of the Bug Blocker door and existing overhead door, without manual intervention. The bottom set of rollers toggles the switch mechanism. The dual track system uses its own track and is separate from your existing overhead door allowing for you to decide the amount of ventilation wanted by lowering the Bug Blocker door and vary the amount of ventilation with the main overhead door. The Bug Blocker door has the ability to be used as a motor operated or manually operated door.
Construction: Your Bug Blocker door is constructed with an aluminum frame and uses stainless steel mesh of either #12, #30 and or 3/4" 20 gauge flattened expanded 304. All hardware provided meets or exceeds the overhead door industry standard for commercial grade usage. The door is counterbalanced by a torsion spring mounted on a torsion bar across the top of the door. The drums provide automatic take up of the cable. The shape of the drums provide a constant counter-balance for the weight of the door as it raises and the springs unwind.
Water or Air Pressure is the suggested cleaning method. If additional cleaning is needed clean with mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water, using a soft clean sponge or soft cloth. In the event of an extreme buildup of debris using a clean push broom with soapy water on the screen has proven to be effective, rinse with water until clear. Occasional lubrication with a light lubricant on all the track, rollers, and track switches will aid in the smooth operation of your door. Our long lasting metal doors have experienced extremes from -35 up to 123 degrees. In areas of extreme weather conditions check your rollers and hardware more frequently.
In the rare event of damage, contact your door installer or Rasco Industries, Inc. directly. The serial number for your door is on a label located on the bottom section of your door. Replacement of damaged sections is done as a sectional unit. Replacement section orders are moved to the front of the production queue at Rasco Industries, Inc.
The door cannot be operated until you disengage the slide-lock out of the track and into the open position. Failure to disengage the slide lock fully out of the track may result in track and /or switch damage. Hold the handle and raise the door firmly and smoothly, Do not throw the door up.
Make sure the door is in the full up position and against the stops before operating the other door.
Use the rope to pull the door down in a steady manner, then lock the door in place with the slide-lock.
